About me

I’m a final year Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Professor Yangqiu Song. Currently, I’m an applied scientist intern at Amazon Stores Foundational AI in Palo Alto, working with Dr. Xin Liu and Dr. Qingyu Yin. Previously, I was a visiting Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University, supervised by Prof. Daniel Khashabi. I also interned as an applied scientist at Amazon Search Experience Science in Palo Alto, where I worked with Dr. Limeng Cui, Dr. Xin Liu, and Dr. Chen Luo. I received my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from HKUST in 2022 and am currently funded by the HKPFS award.

🚀 I'm on the industrial job market for a full-time position with large language models and its agentic application starting from Fall 2026.
👉 Feel free to reach out to me if you have any opportunities!

Research Interest

I’m mainly interested in the research of large language models. Currently, I’m working on:

  • Data Efficient Training Infrastructure of Reinforcement Learning with Large Language Models on mathematics and agentic tasks.
  • Unlocking Creative and Generalizable System II Reasoning within LLMs through conceptualization (🐈, 🚗, 🕯️) and metaphysical reasoning (🪐) to enable reasoning in novel situations beyond intuition and pattern matching
  • Human Behavior Understanding and Intention Modeling with Large Foundation Models in E-Commerce (FolkScope, IntentionQA, MIND, 📜) and Social Media (MIKO), focusing on agent-level comprehension and prediction of human goals and intentions
  • Scientific Knowledge Exploration via Large Language Models, studying their role in organizing, summarizing, and discovering scientific knowledge (arXiv2Table, Science Hierarchography, ClaimCheck)
